Do you realize a tiny speck of doubt can undermine your best efforts? Yes, it can sabotage you before you even begin. I’m going to show you how to conquer self doubt.
The self-doubt habit can cause you to hesitate or even avoid what you need to take action on.
Overcoming Conquer Self Doubt
The solution is to recognize it first of all, and then take action. So here are some steps to take.
1. Pay Attention to Your Inner Voice
In order to address and release the doubt you need to recognize it.
There are certain kinds of thoughts that create self doubt. For example, “What if I’m wrong? What if I’m over my head? This is too hard. I don’t know enough. What if I make a mistake?”
Self doubt can appear as second guessing yourself or questioning yourself.
2. Don’t be hard on yourself.
Even people who are pretty confident, have moments of doubting themselves.
It’s easy to be self-critical when you make a mistake or misjudgment, and this can take a toll on you. It can make you feel depressed and like a failure.
There is no such thing as being perfect, and you need to become comfortable with that.
This is where being patient, understanding, self-forgiving, and compassionate are important.
Here’s a Test To Help You
Ask yourself two questions.
How patient and forgiving are you of yourself. Always, Sometimes, Rarely
How much do you respect and love yourself? Always, Sometimes, Rarely
For a follow up on that last question, say to yourself, “I love myself.” Then notice any inner dialog that comes up. Depending on how you truly love and respect yourself will tell you where you are on this issue.
It’s imperative that you eliminate self doubt and replace it with trust and valuing yourself. That will insure that you direct your energy positively.
Recognize that all your self doubt is in your mind.
Overcoming self doubt is easier once you realize it is just based on opinions and you can do something about your opinions.
In Pat 2 I’ll teach you more about how I eliminated self doubt.
